Futuro simple construcción: will/shall + infinitivo

Verbo ejemplar: to look

Primera, segunda y tercera persona del singular Primera, segunda y tercera persona del plural
I will look We will look
You will look You (guys) will look
He/she/it will look They will look

Se usa el futuro simple para expresar una promesa

  • They will allow you to go through it.
  • He shall be present tomorrow at the meeting.
  • I will do my best.

Se usa el futuro simple para expresar una predicción sobre el futuro

  • His birthday will bring much happiness to the people.
  • Next year will be a great surprise.
  • I don’t know what will happen if it doesn’t succeed.

Se usa el futuro simple para expresar una acción voluntaria, normalmente se usa para una decisión espontánea justo en el momento cuando ocurre

  • Can you help me, please? Yes, I will help you right this instant.
  • Could you send me the check, please? Yes, I will send it now.
  • He shall prepare your lunch sir.
  • He will make the order.

Nótese que hay muchas similitudes entre ‘will’ y la forma similar ‘be going to’

Por ejemplo, las dos pueden significar ‘una intención’ o ‘una predicción’.

Una intención:

  • ‘I am going on vacation in March’.
  • ‘I will go on vacation in March’.

Una predicción:

  • ‘I think this man is going to be the next president’.
  • ‘I think this man will be the next president’.
